FALL 2023
Book studies on the topic of parenting. Sundays / 12:30-2pm in North Redondo: Led by Mike Sunu & Dan Park. 2 times / month, one book discussion, one social meetup. A group for parents to share in the joys and challenges of parenthood. We will be reading and discussing Paul Tripp's book "Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family." We will also spend our time sharing and praying for one another.
Sundays / 4-6pm in North Redondo: Led by Travis Chiang & Beka Hilton. Our community group is mostly composed of families with young children. We meet on Sunday afternoons twice a month. Every semester we focus on one book of the Bible. We rotate hosting, discussion lead, and childcare duties among the different members of our group each week.
Sundays / 3-5pm in West Torrance. Led by Jeff & Kristy Kong. A group for families with young children (but not exclusively) that meets to connect in Christ-centered community and accommodates a slower book-reading pace for parents. A typical meeting will consist of fellowship and a couple of discussion questions related to the book.
Prayer Focus (A.C.T.S. Community Group) / 2nd and 4th Tuesday / 7:30-9pm in South Torrance. Led by Sarah & Johnny Park. Preferably without kids to allow more participants in the hosted space, but contact the leaders if arrangements need to be made. Join us for a time of prayer, praise, and devotion, through the acronym of ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month starting on October 10, from 730pm-9pm. ACTS CG will be hosted at the Park’s residence (Johnny and Sarah) in South Torrance. Please register for which days to attend, as we want to limit it to no more than 10 people per meeting (due to space). And as Timothy Keller shared, “Prayer is meeting with God- heaven in the ordinary.” For more information, click HERE.
Tuesdays / 7-9pm in North Redondo: Led by Abe Buditama. Our weekly fellowship meets at rotating host locations, typically in the North Redondo area. We usually discuss the previous Sunday's sermon, share, and pray for one another. The group is a mixture of singles and married couples, but all are welcome!
Wednesdays / 6:30-8:30pm in Palos Verdes: Led by Waylon & Allison Smart: A study through the Gospel of John. The goal of our group is to know and understand God better while building community with one another. A typical night consists of food & fellowship from 6:30‐7pm, an hour or so of study, and sharing & prayer time at the end. Please write for more information.
MEN | Thursday Nights / 7:30p-9pm (1st & 3rd study and prayer, 2nd Thurs social). Rotating around the South Bay: Led by Phil Shin and Jeff Kyle. A time for men of the church to come together to share and discuss the previous weeks' sermon and share what's on their hearts, what's going on in their lives, and support one another in prayer. The format will generally be Sermon Notes Review from the previous week and prayer focus on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month and a social evening on the 2nd Thursday of the month.
WOMEN | Thursday Night Bible Book Study: Women's Accountability. Women committed to attending Chris Lau’s Friday Bible Book Studies are invited to gather together on the alternating weeks for accountability and prayer. Discussion is based on reflections from the prior week’s study. Meets every other Thursday evening at 7 pm. Hosting locations rotate among group members. For more details and to register click HERE.
Friday Night Bible Book Study in Hermosa: Led by Chris Lau. Each series focuses on a particular book in the Bible, lasting ~4 sessions per series. We meet on alternating Fridays during a series, and then we take a few weeks off before starting the next series. At each session, we come prepared to share an observation, a question, the meaning of the passage, and an application, which has led to some fruitful discussions. We hope you can join us! Membership - We believe membership matters - not merely for the 'right to vote,' but more importantly - because membership in the body of Christ is a biblical theme and is integral for ongoing spiritual growth. If you’re not a member and you want to consider joining King’s Cross as your local church, please contact us HERE.
What is Baptism? Why do we baptize infants? Is that different from adult baptism? What does this sign mean? Is it important? Let’s talk about baptism. This class is taught as needed and upon request. Please contact Russ to express your interest and schedule a time.
