Discovering the Gospel in all things, together.

Please email Jeff Kyle, our Community Groups Coordinator, to talk about these options further and get in touch with the right people.

Wednesdays (7-9pm) in West Torrance. Led by Hobin L. and Abe B. We usually spend time discussing Sunday’s sermon, sharing, and praying for one another. We are a mixture of singles, married couples, and young kid(s). One of the traits of our CG is we are fairly open about our struggles, questions about faith, and the joys of life. We also hang out often outside the weekly meetings. If you live in the area, we’d love you to come check us out!

Wednesdays (6:30-8:30pm) in Palos Verdes. 1 Samuel. Led by Waylon and Allison. A study of a book of the Bible at our home, in order to know and understand God better, and build community with one another. A typical night consists of dinner/ fellowship from 6:30-7pm, the study from 7-8pm, and sharing/ prayer requests from 8-8:30pm.

Sundays (4-6pm) in North Redondo. Galatians. Led by Travis C. and Beka H. Meets twice per month. Our is mostly composed of families with young children. We rotate hosting, discussion lead, and childcare duties among the different members of our group each week.

Bible Book Study: Titus in Hermosa. Fridays, 10/14, 10/28 &11/11. 7:30pm-9pm. Led by Chris Lau. (Limit 15). At each session, we come prepared to share one observation, one question, and one application, which has led to some fruitful discussions. REGISTER here.

Bible Book Study: Women’s Accountability in Torrance. Led by Rebecca Wu. A group for women who want to go deeper into the scriptures studied during the previous Friday night (Chris Lau’s Bible Study). We spend the first half of the night discussing our reflections from the study and sharing how God is using his word to lead us. The second half is dedicated to prayer and accountability. Discussions are peer-led. Hosting locations rotate as needed(Limit 10) REGISTER here.

Membership & Officer Nominations – In the spring, we will nominate and (after training) elect deacons and elders to serve in our church. However, only members will be eligible to nominate, vote, or serve as officers. We believe membership matters – not merely for the ‘right to vote,’ but more importantly – because membership in the body of Christ is a biblical theme and is integral for ongoing spiritual growth. With that said, we are having an upcoming membership class. If you’re not a member and you want to consider joining King’s Cross as your local church, please plan to join us for a two-session membership class: Wednesdays, November 30th and December 7th (6:30-8:30pm). Please register HERE for the ZOOM link.

Evangelism Class – In our church survey from August, the subject of “evangelism in today’s context” received the most attention, along with marriage and parenting. We’ll cover those other two topics early in 2023. But to finish out this year, Joe Brown will lead a three-week seminar on “how to do evangelism” in our lives today. This will not be an information dump; rather it will be a time to help you find and shape your own voice, with biblical, philosophical, and personal content, which God may call you to use in a spontaneous moment. When you find yourself with an opportunity to explain your faith to an interested listener, do you have a plan for what to say, beyond “you should come to my church”? And what if that person wanted to become a Christian – could you tell them how? Join us on Sundays at 8:30AM, December 4, 11, & 18. Childcare is available. Please register HERE. Space will be limited.

Bible Study: Philemon – On Friday, December 9th (7:30-9:30PM) one of our elders, Chris Lau, will be leading a study at his home through this small but potent book. Ideally, you’ll do some preparation (pre-homework) since this is only one session. Register HERE for more details.

Monthly Women’s Gatherings – Whether you have been at King’s Cross for a while or are new to the church, it can be hard to connect with others. This fall, we are organizing monthly Women’s Gatherings to meet other women in the church and grow in community.

  • Trivia and Game Night – December 3rd (6pm-9:30pm, updated from previously published times). The Men’s and Women’s ministries are joining for a co-ed game and trivia night! Come enjoy food, fellowship, and trivia. Please sign up with what you plan to bring for the potluck HERE. Christmas attire is encouraged! Bring warm clothes if you plan to be outdoors. Warning for those with allergies: cats live indoors but will not actively be around during the party. Please register HERE, and reach out to Madalyn and Han with any questions.

Men’s Ministry Meetups: Many men have the tendency to be “lone wolves”, but we are called to live and grow in Christ through community. For that reason, we will organize monthly meetups for brothers to share their lives, pray for each other, enjoy manly things, and grow healthier both spiritually and physically! Some examples of potential meetups are Friday nights at a brewery or prayer paired with an activity (e.g. surfing, road biking, basketball).
