Winter - Spring 2024

Sunday Morning - Bible Book Study in Philippians: Led by Jeremy Williamson. For adults and any older, school-aged children who want to join us! We'll plan on 4 weeks beginning 2/25 to learn from Paul's letter to a beloved church and discover Abounding Love: Hearts Set Free To Do What?! Email Jeremy HERE for more details and to register. Let us know if childcare would be helpful to you and we can make arrangements.

Sundays - Bi-Weekly (3-5pm) in West Torrance: A group for families with young children (but not exclusively) that meets to connect in Christ-centered community and accommodates a slower book-reading pace for parents. A typical meeting will consist of fellowship and a couple of discussion questions related to the book, Hope in Times of Fear by Tim Keller. Email Jeff HERE for more details and to register.

Sundays / 4-6pm in North Redondo: Led by Travis Chiang & Beka Hilton. Our community group is based in North Redondo/Torrance and is mostly composed of families with young children. The women and men meet separately once a month, and then all the families gather socially once a month. This semester we are reading through the book "Respectable Sins" by Jerry Bridges. We rotate hosting and discussion lead among the different members of our group each week.

WOMEN | Monday Night Bible Book Study: Women's Accountability. Women committed to attending Chris Lau’s Friday Bible Book Studies are invited to gather together on the alternating weeks for accountability and prayer. Discussion is based on reflections from the prior week’s study. Meets every other Monday evening at 7 pm. Hosting locations rotate among group members. For more details and to register click HERE.

Tuesdays / 7pm-9pm in North Redondo: Led by Ruth Anne Shue. This weekly fellowship meets at rotating host locations, typically in the North Redondo/ Manhattan Beach area. We usually discuss the previous Sunday's sermon, share, and pray for one another. Weekly snacks are provided! For more information, e-mail Ruth-Anne HERE.

Prayer Focus (A.C.T.S. Community Group) / 2nd and 4th Tuesday / 7:30-9pm in South Torrance. Led by Sarah & Johnny Park. Preferably without kids to allow more participants in the hosted space, but contact the leaders if arrangements need to be made. Join us for a time of prayer, praise, and devotion, through the acronym of ACTS (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month starting on February 13 from 730pm-9pm. ACTS CG will be hosted at the Park’s residence (Johnny and Sarah) in South Torrance. Please email or text us a few days in advance, when planning to attend. And as Timothy Keller shared, “Prayer is meeting with God- heaven in the ordinary.” For more information, click HERE.

Wednesdays / 6:30-8:30pm in Palos Verdes: Led by Waylon & Allison Smart: A study through the Gospel of John. The goal of our group is to know and understand God better while building community with one another. A typical night consists of food & fellowship from 6:30‐7pm, an hour or so of study, and sharing & prayer time at the end. Please write for more information.

MEN | Thursday Nights / 7:30p-9pm (1st & 3rd study and prayer, 2nd Thursday social). Rotating around the South Bay: Led by Phil Shin and Jeff Kyle. A time for men of the church to come together to share and discuss the previous weeks' sermon and share what's on their hearts, what's going on in their lives, and support one another in prayer. The format will generally be Sermon Notes Review from the previous week and prayer focus on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month and a social evening on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Details about our next social gathering are coming soon. Email Phil HERE to participate either in the study or the socials.

Friday Night Bible Book Study in Hermosa: Led by Chris Lau. Each series focuses on a particular book in the Bible, lasting ~4 sessions per series. We meet on alternating Fridays during a series, and then we take a few weeks off before starting the next series. At each session, we come prepared to share an observation, a question, the meaning of the passage, and an application, which has led to some fruitful discussions. We hope you can join us! For more details and to register click HERE.

WOMEN | Fridays / 7-9pm in Gardena: "Renew your heart and transform your mind by replacing self-talk with gospel truth." Join us as we use the TruthFilled workbook by Ruth Chou Simons to study the book of Colossians. This group will meet every other Friday to learn more about who God is, and who we are because of Him. Please purchase the workbook prior to our first meeting. For a summary of the study, link to purchase and to register, click HERE.

Membership - We believe membership matters - not merely for the 'right to vote,' but more importantly - because membership in the body of Christ is a biblical theme and is integral for ongoing spiritual growth. If you’re not a member and you want to consider joining King’s Cross as your local church, please contact us HERE.

What is Baptism? Why do we baptize infants? Is that different from adult baptism? What does this sign mean? Is it important? Let’s talk about baptism. This class is taught as needed and upon request. Please contact Russ to express your interest and schedule a time.

Meet King's Cross Church! For newer people to get to know our church and some leaders. Lunch will be included! We provide these based on interest, so e-mail us HERE so we can be in touch with you.
