It gives me a deep comforting sense that “things seen are temporal and things unseen are eternal.”
– Helen Keller

So it is that through tears of penitence, through striving after righteousness, and through constant compassionate living, that spiritual eyesight is made clear.
– Bernard of Clairvaux

“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”
– Mark Twain

“I am not proud, but I am happy; and happiness blinds, I think, more than pride.”
– Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo

“There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.”
– Soren Kiekegaard

Say to those who have an anxious heart,
    “Be strong; fear not!
Behold, your God
    will come with vengeance,
with the recompense of God.
He will come and save you.”

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened,
    and the ears of the deaf unstopped;
then shall the lame man leap like a deer,
and the tongue of the mute sing for joy.

Isaiah 35:4-6a

How Firm a Foundation

[Verse 1]
How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord
Is laid for your faith in His excellent word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said
To you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?

[Verse 2]
Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed
For I am thy God, and will still give thee aid
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand
Upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand

[Verse 3]
When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie
My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply
The flame shall not hurt thee, I only design
Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine

[Verse 4]
The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose
I will not, I will not desert to his foes
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake
I will never, no, never, no, never forsake

Jesus Paid it All

[Verse 1]
I hear the Savior say
Thy strength indeed is small
Child of weakness, watch and pray
Find in Me thine all in all

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

[Verse 2]
Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone
Can change the leper’s spots
and melt the heart of stone

[Verse 3]
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete
“Jesus died my soul to save”
My lips shall still repeat

Oh Praise the one who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead

5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 John 1:5-2:2

Be Thou My Vision

[Verse 1]
Be Thou my vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best thought, by day or by   night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light

[Verse 2]
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one

[Verse 3]
Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart
High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art

[Verse 4]
High King of heaven, my victory won
May I reach heaven’s joys, O bright heaven’s Sun
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all

SPAM ALERT! So many of you/us are not getting e-mails that leaders send out (i.e., Friday e-mail). We recommend you follow these instructions so that you don’t miss our efforts to keep you informed.

Allowlisting an email tells your email provider to place emails from specific senders into your inbox rather than marking those emails as spam. Doing this will help you and your congregation avoid going through your spam or junk folder to find emails from Planning Center.

Allowlisting may look a little different in each email provider, but the basic process involves adding these four domains to your address book:

Select your email provider to learn how to allowlist email addresses in your email account:

After allowlisting those email addresses, Planning Center emails will always appear in your inbox, and these important emails won’t slip through the cracks!

“Lord, Have Mercy!”
Mark 10:46-52

46 And they came to Jericho. And as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 48 And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.” 50 And throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. 51 And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” 52 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.

Lord I Need You

[Verse 1]
Lord I come, I confess
Bowing here, I find my rest
Without You, I fall apart
You’re the one that guides my heart

Lord, I need You, oh, I need You
Every hour, I need You
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

[Verse 2]
Where sin runs deep, Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are, oh where You are
And where You are, Lord, I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

Lord, I need You, oh, I need you
Every hour, I need you
My one defense, my righteousness
Oh God, how I need You

So teach my song to rise to You
When temptation comes my way
When I cannot stand, I’ll fall on You
Jesus, You’re my hope and stay

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12

…for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
Ephesians 5:8
