Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.

Psalms 51:10-12

I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.
Luke 5:32

Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
Luke 15:7

And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Acts 2:38

Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
Romans 2:3-4

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
2 Peter 3:9

“All of life is repentance.”
– Tim Keller

“My sin was all the more uncurable because I didn’t think myself a sinner”
– Augustine of Hippo

“The responsible person seeks to make his or her whole life a response to the question and call of God.”
– Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Psalm 32:1-2

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
    whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

Great Things

[Verse 1]
Come let us worship our King
Come let us bow at His feet
He has done great things

See what our Savior has done
See how His love overcomes
He has done great things
He has done great things

Oh Hero of Heaven, You conquered the grave
You free every captive and break every chain
Oh God, You have done great things

We dance in Your freedom, awake and alive
Oh Jesus, our Savior, Your name lifted high
Oh God, You have done great things

[Verse 2]
You’ve been faithful through every storm
You’ll be faithful forevermore
You have done great things

And I know You will do it again
For Your promise is “Yes and amen”
You do great things
God, You do great things

Hallelujah God, above it all
Hallelujah God, unshakable
Hallelujah, You have done great things

Jesus Paid it All

[Verse 1]
I hear the Savior say
Thy strength indeed is small
Child of weakness, watch and pray
Find in Me thine all in all

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow

[Verse 2]
Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power and Thine alone
Can change the leper’s spots
and melt the heart of stone

[Verse 3]
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete
“Jesus died my soul to save”
My lips shall still repeat

Oh Praise the one who paid my debt
And raised this life up from the dead

2 Corinthians 7:5-11

For even when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were afflicted at every turn—fighting without and fear within. But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you, as he told us of your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more. For even if I made you grieve with my letter, I do not regret it—though I did regret it, for I see that that letter grieved you, though only for a while. As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us.

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in the matter.

Be Lifted Up/How Great Thou Art

Be lifted up, be lifted up
As we bow down, be lifted up

Let the heavens rejoice, let the nations be glad
Let the whole earth tremble, for you are God
Come and worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness
As we bow down, be lifted up
As we bow down, be lifted up

Be lifted up, be lifted up
As we bow down, be lifted up

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

Needing Volunteers – Serve once per month? Summer means that more of us are traveling at various times. So we’re finding that our volunteer base is running thin. We would appreciate if more of you would consider serving once per month on Sundays, to help us do all that is necessary. Please let us know of your interests and availability HERE.

Seminar: ANGELS, SATAN & DEMONS! You have ideas about angels, but are they biblical? Can Christians be possessed by demons? Is Satan really a being or just a fictional mascot we made up to represent evil? Pastor Joe Brown will offer a one-week class on this fascinating subject: Sunday, June 18th at 8:30am. Childcare will be provided for those who request it through registration, ahead of time. This is a free seminar. Invite a friend, neighbor, or coworker to learn more about the spirit world and why it matters. These sessions will not be recorded. You can register HERE.

Closing the Balcony – Thank you all for responding to our prior request to sit closer. It has helped a lot with engagement and energy.

If you would like to give electronically, you may do so using the “Giving” tab at the bottom-right corner of the mobile app. There are also white baskets in the back of our worship space, where you can give via check, made out to King’s Cross Church, or cash.

“Calling The Disciples”

Mark 1:4,14-20

John appeared, baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins…

Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Passing alongside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” And immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, who were in their boat mending the nets. And immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants and followed him.

Amazing Grace

[Verse 1]
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found
Was blind, but now I see

[Verse 2]
‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed

[Verse 3]
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come
‘Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home

[Verse 4]
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures

[Verse 5]
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
The sun forbear to shine
But God who called me here below
Will be forever mine

[Verse 6]
When we’ve been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun

This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 1:5-7
